Dune

The final chapter opens after you finish Sion's, Surlent's and Riza's stories. Dune leads, with Sion, Surlent and Riza.

Mantras below are from New Playthrough where one fits:

Effect Mantra
Strength down PECOAGODWEAK
Defense down PECOAGODSOFT
Spirit down KIPECOAVIRUS
Magic defense down PECOAGODZERO
Strength up PECOAPOWERUP
Defense up PECOAGAIA
Spirit up PECOASUNA
Magic defense up COABARRIERNA
Fire, one NANIKIKUEBIT
Water, one KIKUEGODMINU
Lightning, one NANIKUEGODUS
Wind, one NANIKIKUEJIN
Dark, one NANIKIKUEGOD

Elemental barriers are an element word + NAREEM, like IGNAREEM for fire.

Most fights here go the same way: open with the debuffs and buffs listed, then three characters attack while Riza heals every turn, even at full HP.

Armor with an element halves damage of that element and doubles damage of the opposite one, so the gear notes under each boss list what to wear and what to take off. They only include gear you can have by then. See Equipment for stats.

Day 16: To the Moon

There's nothing to buy in this chapter, and you can't go back to earlier dungeons. Before the party splits up, take off everyone's gear so it goes to your bag for Dune's party. The Wear lists below use that gear.

  • If you finished Sion's or Surlent's story last, go southeast of town to the Deep Sea Trench, board the airship, say goodbye and fly to the moon.
  • Step outside the airship and Riza joins. Go back in and take off.
  • Brasnir's mind gets infected. Leave the room, up the nearest ladder, down the next, and search the beam to raise a bridge.

Boss: Brasnir

  • HP: 6000 · Weak: water · Drops: Amrita
  • Wear: the Cassius Mail (fire) you start with.
  • Avoid: any water gear you carried over.
  • Weapons: water weapons you carried over.
  • Strength up, defense down, spirit down, magic defense up.
  • Under half HP: MACROPOTEY about 140 to everyone, KIDEREMNU about 160 to everyone, KIDEOHPIPER about 210 to one, even with debuffs.

Ramyleth takes the controls and flies you to Urd's Gate.

Urd's Gate

Party is around level 45–50.

Eight black chests sit in the holes: Daniel's Robe, Meio Shield, Octave Mail, Peschel Boots, Dark Bow, Death Falcon, Hecate's Robe, Flat Shield. Four holes have a boss:

Hole Boss HP Weak Drops Fight
Northwest Setaviza 3700 Fire Purifier Spirit down, magic defense down, spirit up, magic defense up, then fire mantras. IGBIRD is cheap and hits about 660.
Southeast Lazm 4000 None Nuad Herb Strength down, strength up, defense up, spirit down, then attack.
Northeast Abilijer 4000 Fire Same as Lazm, or use fire mantras.
Southwest Ravana 4000 Water Orpheus Robe Spirit down, spirit up, IGNAREEM, magic defense down, then water mantras.

Gear for the four:

  • Setaviza casts water: wear the Hecate's Robe, and avoid fire gear (Cassius Mail, Daniel's Robe, Psycho Shield).
  • Ravana casts fire: wear the Cassius Mail, Daniel's Robe and Psycho Shield, and avoid the Hecate's Robe.
  • Lazm and Abilijer hit physically. Wear your highest Def. Lazm Thunder doubles against wind gear, so take off the Beze Wing and Meio Shield for him.

The door at the back center opens once all four are down.

Boss: Hausen

  • HP: 8500 · Weak: wind · Drops: Magic Leaf
  • Wear: lightning gear: Baker's Cap, Zeland Helm, Flat Shield, Peschel Boots.

Take the ark to Skuld's Gate.

Skuld's Gate

  • Go down the steps and through the door, then try to leave. You end up in a secret area where every chest is a Mimic (MimicL56). The treasure respawns, but once you start the fight you have to beat them all to get back. Each Mimic always drops a Magic Leaf (max MP +10), so this is the place to get everyone's MP up to the 255 cap.
  • Keep going through doors and avoid the grates. The monsters in them aren't worth it.
  • Capulet drop Amrita, and Nataraja drop Horn Water.
  • The third fixed enemy, a TrainDragn, drops the Freedom, a dagger strong enough to make two attackers worthwhile against Mitra.
  • A room with a recovery jar and save point comes before the boss.

Boss: Saizou

  • HP: 10500 · Drops: Life Leaf
  • Gear: his attacks are physical. Wear your highest Def, like the Octave Mail (Def 42).
  • No weakness. Spirit down or defense up, defense down, strength down, strength up. Recast them every five or six turns.

Saizou tells you Mitra is in the temple at Verdandi and is weak to wind.

Verdandi's Temple

Party is around level 50–56.

  • Go to the statue outside the ark, watch the scene, then find and examine the statue to warp to the entrance.
