Monographs¶

A Monograph raises the chance of rare loot from its enemy types, and lets those enemies drop two items instead of one. It works as long as it's in your inventory.

Monographs are sold in the Bazaar as Forgotten Grimoire once unlocked. The talk and read counts work at any shop or notice board in any town. Notice board reads may only count after you finish the Rogue Tomato hunt.

Monograph	Enemies	Price (gil)	How to unlock
Hunter's Monograph	Beasts, Avions	18,000	Finish the Thextera hunt (Wolf in the Waste), then talk to Gatsly in Muthru Bazaar, Rabanastre.
Knight's Monograph	Giants, Insects	19,000	Talk to any weapon shop owner 30 times.
Warmage's Monograph	Amorphs, Undead	20,000	Read any notice board 20 times.
Mage's Monograph	Fiends, Ichthians	21,000	Talk to any magick shop owner 25 times.
Dragoon's Monograph	Dragons, Plants	22,000	Read any notice board 40 times.
Scholar's Monograph	Constructs	22,000	Talk to any armor shop owner 15 times.
Sage's Monograph	Elementals	25,000	Talk to any shop owner 100 times.

Canopic Jar¶

Not a Monograph, but it works the same way. With the Canopic Jar in your inventory, any enemy can drop Arcana. It's sold in the Bazaar as Morbid Urn for 250,000 gil, after you sell Horakhty's Flame, Phobos Glaze and Deimos Clay. All three are hunt rewards.
